We believe that true diplomacy is the difficult, often frustrating, but essential work of navigating competing national interests and the inherent limits of the global order. At CIMUN, delegates do not just debate; they navigate the high-stakes, messy reality of statecraft. Our mission is to prepare students for the world as it is, through:

For 23 years, we have operated on a singular premise: Model UN should not be a game of make-believe. We began as an experiment in institutional independence, moving away from the traditional "student-club" model. Instead, we formed a lean, volunteer organization composed of seasoned student leaders and experts from fields ranging from international law to political journalism. Our goal was to create a simulation where the scale of global conflict and collaboration finally matched the complexity of the world as it actually exists.
