The Security Council is the primary executive organ of the United Nations, with its mandate centered on the maintanance of international peace and security, and it is vested with the power to address breaches of this mandate with a variety of measures including peacekeeping operations, sanctions and other means. The council is also one of the International Community's primary forums for discussion and the airing of grievances between the world's most powerful nations. As a result, the SC functions very differently from many other organs, and will be one of our veteran simulations.
