GA Topic
GA Topic:
2. Stability and Development in the GUAM Region
White Paper:

The Republic of Albania sees the importance of stability and development in the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development region, and due to its influence within the region, looks to build long lasting solutions to current problems. The creation of this unity between the four nations of Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Moldova, was built to inspire democratic values, ensuring stable development, enhancing international and regional security, and stepping up European integration. Therefore, in order to promote further peace, this institution should be able to promote as much stability and effort towards cooperation as possible and this reflects the stability of the total region. The conflicts of larger nations on the overall region have always been felt, and Albania has long resented the influx of other agendas standing in the way of peace and cooperation amongst the eastern European region that has grown so much in the last century.
Therefore, in light of current conflicts such as the instability caused by the difference of opinion amongst foreign large nations such as Russia and the United States in the issue of the North-South Transportation Corridor (INSTC), which has had many different routes planned in order for its construction. In this occasion, the sole opinions that should matter should be of the member states it would affect in both the region of GUAM as well as the nations it is proposed run through, Russia and Iran. The building of this connection line from Europe to Asia would allow for more stability to be felt in trade and economically, allowing for not only the GUAM nations but also others nearby and who are linked to the benefitting region should have the input necessary to make a final, diplomatic decision, as opposed to allowing the input of many others.
