I'll start: I'm Brent Terry-Penak, and I represent Niger. On Topic 1, as a member of the Non-Aligned Movement, Niger deplores both Iran's seizure of American hostages and the decline in relations between Iran and Iraq, and it would like both countries to enter negotiations, by force of the Security Council if necessary, before the situation degresses into war. On Topic 2, Niger believes the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan to be a gross violation of the Afghan people's sovereignty and believes the Security Council must take action to force the Soviet Union to remove its troops.

I'm Connor Mulhern, and I
I'm Connor Mulhern, and I represent the Norwegian people. You will find Norway's opinions very similar to those of Niger. The peace-loving people of Norway condemn the actions taken by the Iranian fundamnetalists in taking hostages. Norway believes that conflict between Iran and Iraq will do significant damage to the innocent people of both nations.
