Thank you Victor, that is actually very good advice because I have a habit of raising my placard vertically. No one has ever corrected me on this point.

Here is a common mistake.
Here is a common mistake. When a Chair presides over a committee of 200+ persons, they are not going to call on delegates who are holding placards vertically. This is because it requires me to turn my head to read the Country's name on the placard. If you are in a big committee, make sure you raise your placard and hold it 90 degrees to create a right angle. This way, the Chair can properly see the country's name. TO be honest I won't call on someone who isn't holding their placard properly. In school, I used to make our team practice raising the placards and our people always got picked to speak or make motions, unless the Chair was out to get us (which they usually were, because we were just that damn good).

I see that there is not very many comments on this topic. Perhaps because it is asking for experienced delegates' opinions in the "Novice" delegates' folder. I think I'll start this topic in another folder. But which one would be best for getting experienced comments but novice veiws?

Ya, was not planning on doing that anyway, but I will keep that in mind.
