US National Security Council (1980)
Head of State: Shawn Storkman
Political Officer: Terry Evans
Email: usnsc(at)cimun.org

Under the helm of President Jimmy Carter, the US faced a number of crises. By the end of 1980, his Presidency was doomed as he lost a reelection to Ronald Reagan. Both mavericks, Presidents Carter and Reagan were active in the dangerous arena of cold war politics. The actions in the early 1980s led to blowback that can continue to be felt today. At CIMUN 2009, delegates will play the role of crucial members of the Carter administration. Please see Cabinet Simulations for more information on the Historical Cabinets at CIMUN. |
