The Security Council is the primary executive organ of the United Nations, with its mandate centered on the maintanance of international peace and security, and it is vested with the power to address breaches of this mandate with a variety of measures including peacekeeping operations, sanctions and other means. The council is also one of the International Community's primary forums for discussion and the airing of grievances between the world's most powerful nations. As a result, the SC functions very differently from many other organs, and will be one of our veteran simulations. |

Registration for the 2010 conference is now open. Schools that register during our priority registration period receive special discounted rates, and are eligible to enter our upcoming country/committee lottery. If you have any questions about registering for CIMUN, please contact us.

We are pleased to announce that CIMUN is now accepting staff applications for our 2010 conference. Last year, CIMUN attracted 87 staff members from 26 different universities around the world, and featured a staff-to-delegate ratio of 7 to 1, among the lowest of any major conference.
