Our Staff

22% of CIMUN Staff are Secretary-Generals of Other Conferences, or Presidents of their MUN Teams

Unlike traditional conferences, CIMUN staff members do not come from one particular university. Instead, CIMUN draws a diverse and talented collection of students, post-graduates and professionals from around the world selected through a highly-competitive application process. In 2008, 22% of our 80 staff members were either current or former Secretary-Generals or Presidents of prestigious university-level Model UN programs.

Since CIMUN's early days, we have been pleased to receive former CIMUN delegates as part of the staff cadre. This year, there are more staff applications of this nature than ever. We are proud and excited to welcome these staff members to the conference! Many Model UN conferences have difficulties recruiting staff, some even requisitioning delegates during the conference to become staff members. MUNDO is grateful that it has never had a shortage of interest among skilled MUNers, and that we are continually impressed each year by the quality of staff that apply.

CIMUN has one of the lowest staff-to-delegate ratios of any conference in the world. In 2008, we had as many as 80 staff members, giving us a staff-to-delegate ratio is 1:7.5. Most conferences will feature staff-to-delegate ratios of 1:11 or more (equivilant to CIMUN having 50 staff members). The direct effect of having more staff is the continuously improving quality of our simulations. In 2009, the Department of Simulations will comprise more staff than any other Department, including Committees.

To MUNDO, our staff is our most important asset, as it is their diligence and ability that makes ours conference truly special. If you are interested in joining the CIMUN staff, please fill out our staff application.
